Apple Launches Spotify Wrapped-Alike to Showcase Your Favorite Songs of 2019

Apple Music can now bring you the best musical moments of your time as a subscriber to the platform, from the artists you have listened to the most, to your favorite songs of 2019.

You'll also get custom playlists that you can share with your friends (although you may want to wait if you feel like your taste in music is particularly bad).

At the moment, it seems that Apple Music Replay is still in beta, but you can access it in the same way. To view your music year, go to beta.Music.apple.com/replay and you will be prompted to sign in to your Apple Music account.

Once connected, you'll be able to see the songs you've listened to this year (as well as your entire Apple Music user) in a convenient playlist that's updated weekly, unless until the end of the year, after which you can access your 2020 reading list.

This is a wrap

If all of this sounds familiar, it's probably because Spotify has been doing something very similar for a few years now.

Spotify Wrapped is one of the most popular features of the streaming platform, allowing Premium and Free account holders to better understand their year of listening.

Last year's stats include the number of minutes of music you've listened to, as well as the different songs, artists, and genres you've used this year.

More interactive than Apple Music Replay, Spotify Wrapped 2018 has also tested its knowledge of your own listening habits, which has been rewarded with a playlist of its 100 best songs for 2018.

While Spotify Wrapped is only available for a short time, Apple Music Replay will be available throughout the year.

While this can be useful for subscribers who want to keep an eye on their listening habits, we can't see it being as successful as Spotify Wrapped; After all, the thrill comes from the fact that you have to wait all year to see what guilty pleasures dominate your personal reading list.

Meanwhile, Spotify has been busy adding its app to the Magic Leap One augmented reality headsets. Users will have a 3D version of the streaming platform overlaid on their view of the real world, allowing you to set specific playlists for different rooms in your home, which will be read automatically when you enter the part.
