Anthem Comes to EA Access Subscription Service to Revitalize RPG

Normally, when a game appears on the EA Access service, it is a victory turn: an opportunity for a well-received game to reach a new audience through 39, a subscription service. But it's a different story for Anthem.

EA announced that Bioware's Looter shooter would target EA Access and Origin Access subscribers on PC.

But rather than being an opportunity to eliminate all potential players, this is Anthem's last chance to win over any major audience.

Start the jetpacks

Anthem had shown great promise before launch, coming from the team behind the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games, and offering players the opportunity to team up in a hostile world, flying jetpacks to take on formidable foes.

But the game was ultimately criticized for its superficial content, weak storyline, and problematic attempts to combine single-player and multiplayer. As a result, despite the € 100 million digital revenue, it is difficult to find a consistent (or happy) audience - only a fraction of the € 100 million comes from microtransaction purchases, the driving force behind the 'real' game being played. Supposed to exist and evolve. since many years.

And so on at EA Access, where the game will be offered for free with a multitude of other titles for a monthly fee. Could it be that Anthem's fortune is turning around? We hope so, if only for Bioware, a developer with a rich heritage that deserves to be celebrated despite a recent string of disappointing titles.
