Amazon Prime is giving away Starcraft: Remastered this month

Amazon Prime subscribers can pick up an iconic RTS this month as the latest Prime Gaming lineup has been revealed.

After giving members of its subscription service 30 free games on Prime Day, Amazon is now bringing StarCraft: Remastered to them. Announced in a blog post (opens in a new tab), Prime subscribers will have until August 1 to purchase the 2017 revamp of Blizzard's classic RTS space.

Renewing the game with ultra HD visuals, enhanced audio, and full multiplayer matchmaking, this remaster is the best way to play StarCraft on modern hardware. The core game remains largely unchanged, combining the original StarCraft campaigns and the Brood War expansion into one title.

It's also arguably the easiest route in the series. He introduces you to his Terran-Zerg-Protoss conflict, along with Jim Raynor, Kerrigan, and the rest of the gang. Plus, even if you never venture into the fiercely competitive multiplayer scene, the single-player campaigns of it still hold up today.

Five additional games will also be available this month. They include the old-school point-and-click adventure game Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, the standalone adventure Beasts of Maravilla Island, the modern metroidvania Recompile, the roguelite platformer ScourgeBringer, and the puzzler Family Mysteries: Poisonous Promises.

All six games will be available starting August 1. As usual, you'll still be able to download and play them after your Prime membership ends. But be sure to claim them before they disappear in the next round of gifts in a month.

Amazon Prime subscribers can also get a ton of additional in-game goodies this month. As part of Prime's ongoing partnership with Pokémon Go, subscribers can get a pack of 30 Pokéballs and five free Max Revives. Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone players can also get a cosmetic pack, while Battlefield 2042 players can get a free Lis skin.

Prime Gaming has delivered some stellar titles over the past year. In addition to giving away Mass Effect: Legendary Edition last month, it gave members Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Total War: Warhammer in January. If you're already an Amazon Prime member, it's worth keeping an eye out for games you can buy at no extra cost.
