Will your Mac receive the (*13*) 13 Ventura update?

Apple's WWDC 2022 keynote is over and we've seen previews of iOS 16, watchOS 9 and more, with public betas scheduled to arrive in July.

Still, with iPadOS 16 finally bringing support for external displays and iOS 16 with fully customizable lock screens, (*13*) Ventura has brought the best of both worlds in terms of functionality.

With that in mind, we've checked out which Macs will work with the Ventura when it launches in late 2022.

What Macs are compatible with Ventura?

Apple confirmed during the keynote that (*13*) 13 Ventura will arrive "this fall", with a public beta in July, where you can test the update before it's released to everyone.

Although each release has required more Macs to be written off when upgrading to the latest (*13*) update, Ventura seems to be forcing its hand a lot more this year, with Macs as new as 2018 being allowed to sit al día. Este es un cambio significant con respecto a (*13*) Monterey, which podría ejecutarse in Mac from 2015.

What about people using Macs as of 2016?

Those of you still happily using your Mac from 2016 or earlier will miss out on the update coming later in 2022, but you'll still be able to use your Mac normally.

However, you may notice that some of your favorite applications are no longer compatible with your old operating system (*13*). You may not notice a change right away, but third-party apps may prompt you to switch to Ventura if you want to use them.

You could also be at a higher risk of experiencing a security breach. Hackers have had more time to figure out how to crack older hardware and software, using workarounds that are likely to be fixed in the latest updates.
