One of the best Netflix originals has been officially renewed, sex education season 3 is underway, now we just have to wait for its release date. Sex Ed Season 3 Release Date Forecast: 2021?
We expect the Sex Education season 3 release date to be early 2021, depending on the duration of the current shooting hiatus related to the health crisis. Time is running out for filming in 2020 as the film is due to shoot in the longest days of the British summer. However, it is possible that it could resume in August, according to Deadline and Eleven, the production company behind the hit show, but it seems that Netflix had to make a decision this month to avoid a significant delay in Season 3. Which, according to Deadline, appears to be the case. He understands that Sony and the show's producers are making progress with preparations to return to filming and are developing the necessary protocols. The actors would keep an August shooting date in their newspapers. This comes as the UK government gave permission for TV and film shooting to resume in May 2020, provided the producers have put sufficient security plans in place. However, the necessary contact and privacy that the Sex Education cast must have as part of the show will present a headache for Eleven. If Netflix stays true to its current release model for the show, which, given its ratings success, seems possible, we predict that season 3 will be released in January 2021. Fortunately, Netflix seems to understand exactly how thirsty fans are for Sex Education for more of the show and the streamer marked the announcement of the Season 3 renewal with a trailer. Like the opening trailer for Season 2, in which Gillian Anderson delivered a sultry monologue about the benefits of sex, Aristair Petrie director Groff hilariously recounts the Season 3 trailer. We see the silent director walking through the halls of Moordale High, passing portraits of the main cast of Sex Education while taking a look at what the future may hold for each of them. While a distribution list for the third season has yet to be confirmed, we're pretty sure to assume that the characters featured in the video trailer will return.
Series leads Asa Butterfield (Otis Milburn) and Gillian Anderson (Dr. Jean Milburn) appear, as do many of the supporting cast, notably Emma Mackey (Maeve Wiley), Ncuti Gatwa (Eric Effiong), Connor Swindells (Adam Groff) and Patricia Allison (Ola Nyman). Given the weight of season 2 in an overarching narrative approach, it would be hard to imagine the show's return without most of the cast taking over their roles. Sex Education Season 3 Storyline: What We Expect From The Next Series Of Episodes
Series creator and writer Laurie Nunn was already hard at work on the script for the third season long before Netflix revamped the series. In an interview with LADbible, Nunn discusses the show's tight schedule, noting that the process of writing another season before confirmed renewal is typically part of how television production works. When asked about the potential for future stories, Nunn said: "I love writing these characters. It's a great ensemble and I think the theme of the show, in terms of sex and relationships, really offers a never-ending story of opportunity." Sex Education season 2 moved away from its focus on Otis, instead choosing to lend nearly as much time to the wonderfully diverse characters around him. Eric (Gatwa), the internet's newest queer icon, has benefited most from this change in the show's structure, allowing for a nuanced and moving overview of the struggles of a young black queer man. His popularity clearly didn't happen without warning, as the trailer video for the third season mainly focuses on the potential of his blossoming romance with his former tyrant Adam.

Eric isn't the only student with love on his brain. Por of course the timeless "will they, won't they?" the dance between Otis and Maeve (Mackey) seems to be about to happen. The somewhat conflicted final scenes of the second season saw Otis confess his love to Maeve in a voicemail, only to be shot down by Maeve's new love interest before she could hear it. While some fans have criticized this story as a contrived extension of the character's current love dilemma, the show's director avoids any potential backlash. In a conversation with BT, Ben Taylor said "I think shoes will be thrown onto screens 'in a good way'. I love being fucked with stuff. You think you want it, but you don't."
There are many more children with the supporting cast to be picked up in season 3 of Sex Education. John ends the second season with a new appreciation for emotional intimacy with his partner Jakob over and over again, thanks to his friendship with Adam's recently divorced mother, Maureen. Elsewhere, several students are grappling with revelations about his identity and place in the world as they face the reality of sexual assault-related trauma, unconventional identities, and looming prospects for the future.
