The Shark Stratos Cordless with Clean Sense IQ IZ862H is the new top pick in Shark's line of cordless vacuums thanks to its Clean Sense IQ technology, which automatically adjusts suction to pick up dirt and debris you can't see, and tells you when the floor is clean.

In our tests, we were very impressed with the suction capabilities, especially the vacuum's ability to remove hair from our sofa when used in handheld and Boost mode. The MultiFLEX wand makes it easy to vacuum under furniture, and the flexible swivel head is proven to pick up dirt in corners and around valuable furniture like chairs.
The Stratos is reasonably priced for a high-performance cordless vacuum, and it's more affordable than some models with similar dust-sensing technology, like the Dyson V15 Detect. While the dusting brush isn't the best at picking up dust, it's a minor inconvenience that's easy to overlook.

Shark Stratos Cordless with Clean Sense IQ IZ862H – or Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Cordless Vacuum [1 Battery] IZ400UK, as it's called in the UK, is the most expensive cordless vacuum offered by Shark; That said, it's only $20/£20 more than the Shark Vertex Pro Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins, and we were pleasantly surprised that for just a small premium you get a noticeable upgrade in terms of functionality. In addition to the aforementioned Clean Sense IQ technology, another feature on the Stratos that the Shark Vertex Pro lacks is odor neutralization technology, to keep the vacuum head smelling great.
The Vertex comes with an additional Pet Multi-Tool attachment for removing pet hair and has a larger 1-qt./0,95-L dust cartridge compared to 0,72-qt./0,68-L , but if you don't need the pet hair tool, we can. I don't see the smaller cartridge as a deal breaker for many people.

Weighing 8,9lbs/4kg, the Shark Stratos Cordless with Clean Sense IQ IZ862H is light enough for cordless vacuums. Included in the pack are a suction head, a Duster crevice tool (which can be used as a crevice tool or a brush) and a flat anti-allergy brush.
Standing up, the vacuum measures 51 inches / 130 cm tall, but instead of an extendable tube, it features a flexible tube with Shark's MultiFLEX technology. A release latch on the back of the wand allows you to fold it forward for compact, freestanding storage or for cleaning under furniture. The vacuum head swivels and can effectively rotate up to a 90-degree angle with a simple twist of the handle. Between that spinning action and the flexible wand, you can clean just about anywhere your head can fit.
A pod of odor-neutralizing technology is tucked into the top of the vacuum head to keep you smelling fresh, and an LED headlight lets you see dirt and dust in dark corners. But the most important aspect of the vacuum head's design is the Clean Sense IQ indicator. As you vacuum, a strip of light illuminates at the top of the vacuum head. The longer the light strip, the dirtier the floor. When the strip of light moves away, it means that the floor is clean.

Those with carpets will appreciate the Duo Clean PowerFins HairPro Dual Brush Roll System, especially if they have pets. The two rotating brushes pick up hair and dirt stuck in the carpet and are designed so that hair does not get tangled.
To empty the 0,72 qt/0,68 L dust cup, which is equipped with a seal to prevent dust and allergens from escaping into the air, detach the main unit from the tube and release a latch on the bin to pull out the cup. content to the trash can.

The Shark Stratos Cordless with Clean Sense IQ IZ862H scored impressively in our tests. We vacuum in both broom and handheld modes on a variety of surfaces, including hardwood floors, vinyl flooring, thick, low-pile carpet, baseboards, a couch, and drapes.
The vacuum doesn't have a charging station or dock, so it's easy to store in a closet or other space between uses.
While we were testing the Eco and Boost power modes, we generally ran the vacuum in Clean Sense IQ mode because we wanted to get a good idea of how the Clean Sense IQ technology worked. When there was a lot of dirt or debris on the floor, the suction automatically increased and then returned to normal when the area was clean. The suction power of this vacuum was excellent and we never had to go over the same area more than twice.
Because we live in an older home with lots of nooks and crannies, it can be difficult to vacuum certain corners or tight spaces. The vacuum head has a 10-inch cleaning path width and its low profile allows easy placement under cabinets. We liked that the floor head had an LED headlight and could turn to a 90-degree angle with just a slight twist of the handle. This allows you to more easily clean in corners, under dining room chairs, and around booths in a way we haven't been able to do with other vacuums.

We've never used a Shark cordless vacuum before and found the MultiFLEX wand to be incredibly innovative. With a simple click of the button on the back of the wand, it folds in half, so you don't have to squat or bend down to vacuum under a bed or sofa. When folded, the vacuum isn't as controllable as when it's locked upright, but it's still pretty easy to maneuver.

We cleaned the floorboards with the dusting brush tool, and when we needed to get into tight corners, we swapped the brush tool for the crevice tool. The vacuum was light enough to use the crevice tool to clean the corners of our 10-foot ceilings and above door frames. We were happy to use the allergen dusting brush on our blinds as they do get dusty if, however, it didn't clean the blinds as well as we hoped.
The Shark Stratos cordless vacuum with Clean Sense IQ IZ862H easily converts to a handheld vacuum for cleaning furniture and upholstery. In boosted power mode, it seemed to pick up hair from furniture much more effectively than a similar vacuum we recently tested, the LG CordZero All in One Auto Empty Cordless Stick Vacuum.
Thanks to the self-cleaning double rotating brush, hair never gets tangled in the brush. 0,72 qt/0,68 L trash bin is large enough to hold a lot of dust and debris; we couldn't fill it up even after vacuuming the whole house three times.

The vacuum cleaner's battery is located on the back of the handle. You don't have to remove it from the vacuum to charge it, but you can if that's more convenient.
The battery takes three hours to charge, and on a full charge you can get up to 60 minutes of battery life in ECO mode. As mentioned, in Clean Sense IQ mode, the vacuum senses the amount of dirt on the floor and increases suction power as needed to pick up dirt and debris, so the battery level can drain faster. depending on how often you vacuum. you need to “push”.
When we tested the vacuum, we never came close to running out of battery power when vacuuming our 150m² / 1600sqft home, and often ended a vacuuming session with around 40% battery life remaining. .
