The Oppo Find X6 could be one of the best phones of 2023, or at least the Oppo Find X6 Pro could be. After all, the Oppo Find X5 Pro currently holds a spot on our best phones list, so its successor is likely to do the same.

This upcoming lineup doesn't have the same level of hype as the OnePlus 11, let alone the Samsung Galaxy S23 or iPhone 14, but there's a good chance it could compete with them in terms of specs and performance, so the Oppo Find X6 deserves attention.

We haven't heard much about this phone (or its likely Pro and Lite siblings) so far, but we have heard a few things, all of which you'll find below, and we'll add them to this article as soon as we know. hear more

We have also included a list of the things we expect the most from the Oppo Find X6 range, to make it the best it can be.

Oppo Find X6: release date and price

Although there is no news about the release date of the Oppo Find X6, we can make a good guess, because the Oppo Find X5 and Oppo Find X3 lines (there was no Find X4) went on sale in March of their launch years.

Therefore, March 2023 seems very likely for the Oppo Find X6, probably with the Oppo Find X6 Pro and the Oppo Find X6 Lite, since the standard model, Pro and Lite were announced at the same time in the Find X5 range.

However, the actual announcement could take place at the end of February, as was the case with the Find X5 series. But in any case, towards the end of the first quarter of 2023 it seems very likely that we will see the Oppo Find X6.

There is no word on the cost of the Oppo Find X6 lineup, but the phones may be priced similarly to the current models.

For reference, the Oppo Find X5 starts at €749 / AU$1,399 (around €920), the Find X5 Pro is €1,049 / AU$1,799 (around €1,285), and the Oppo Find X5 Lite is €399/AU €799 (around €490).

The lack of US pricing is because Oppo doesn't have much of a presence in the US, so don't count on being able to easily buy the Find X6 line there.

In any case, the above prices probably aren't adequate for upcoming models, but we doubt the Find X6 range will be that much more expensive, as the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro are already expensive for the specs we have. they deliver

Oppo Find X6: news and leaks

The biggest leak to date concerns the Oppo Find X6 Pro and comes from leaker Yogesh Brar (opens in a new tab), who revealed many possible specifications on Twitter.

Apparently, the Oppo Find X6 Pro has a 2-inch 6,7K display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage, Android 13, and a battery of 5000 mAh with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

It also apparently has a triple-lens rear camera with a 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP telephoto sensor, along with a Hasselblad setup and a 32MP front-facing camera. The main snapper is also said to have a large 1-inch feeler.

The phone may charge even faster than the above leak suggests, as Oppo has unveiled 150W and 240W charging technologies, though it hasn't confirmed either. Other technology will appear in this range of phones. The latter, however, can fully charge a 4.500 mAh battery in just 9 minutes.

As for the standard Oppo Find X6, trusted leaker @evleaks (opens in a new tab) posted a render purporting to show the phone, which you can see below, with a massive camera block housing a triple-purpose snapper. .

According to the leaked Digital Chat Station (Opens in a new tab) (via GSMArena (Opens in a new tab)), this camera is made up of three 50MP snappers: a wide, an ultra-wide, and a periscope.

According to Nikkei Asia (Opens in a new tab), Oppo could start putting its own chipsets in smartphones as early as 2023 or 2024, so there's a chance they'll be ready in time for the Oppo Find lineup. X6. Current models use a combination of Snapdragon and Dimensity chipsets, which are the two main lines of chipsets used by most Android phone manufacturers.

It's unclear if Oppo's own chipsets would be better, but this change could help the company avoid shortages and outages.

Oppo Find X6: what we want to see

The Oppo Find X5 range is quite impressive, but the Oppo Find X6 series could certainly be much better, especially the ones below.

1. A longer distance zoom

Oppo Find X5 Pro

Even the Oppo Find X5 Pro has a disappointing zoom (Image credit: Future)

While the Oppo Find X5 Pro is a premium smartphone in many ways, it lacks the front-facing zoom, with only 2x optical zoom. Most premium phones have at least three times, and some like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra go as high as 10 times.

So we would like to see at least 3x zoom on the Oppo Find X6 Pro, but an even longer optical zoom or range of zoom levels would be better. Ideally, these changes would also be made to the standard Find X6, as the Find X5 is also stuck at 2x optical zoom.

2. Lower prices

The entire Oppo Find X5 range is quite expensive for what you get, especially as Oppo doesn't have the Samsung or Apple brand appeal. So if the company really wants to be competitive in 2023, we'd like to see lower prices for its next wave of phones.

That's especially true for the Find X6 and Find X6 Pro, as they're sure to compete with heavyweights like the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup and OnePlus 11 Pro.

3. Water resistance

The Oppo Find X5 comes face down on a chair

The Oppo Find X5 lacks water resistance (Image credit: Future)

The Oppo Find X5 Pro has water resistance, but the standard Oppo Find X5 does not, despite the rather high price.

We can live without water resistance on the Lite model, but we really want to see something on both the Oppo Find X6 and Find X6 Pro, as a lot of rivals at this kind of price have it, and when you spend that kind of money you don't. you do. I don't want to have to worry about a little rain.

4. A microscope camera

The Oppo Find X3 Pro had an unusual camera setup in that it included a microscope camera, allowing it to take close-up photos of small details. We were disappointed to find that this was missing from the Find X5 range, as although it's a novelty, it works well and helped the Find X3 Pro's cameras stand out.

So we'd like to see it return, perhaps with some improvements, for the Oppo Find X6 range.

5. Greater availability

The Oppo Find X5 and its siblings aren't sold in the US, which is a real shame as they're great smartphones that are sure to please a lot of people there.

That's unlikely to change for the Oppo Find X6 as it probably won't be easy to get a foothold in the country, but we'd like Oppo to give it a try.
