Marvel's She-Hulk Might Not Come To Disney Plus This Year

Marvel Studios' She-Hulk may push her release date back to early 2023, according to a new rumor.

According to Reddit user lyserg16, She-Hulk may not be coming to Disney Plus until next year, as the Marvel TV show is apparently suffering from a number of visual effects (VFX) issues.

For now, lyserg16 claims that the Marvel Phase 4 project is still on track for a late 2022 release. However, Redditor suggests that She-Hulk may need to be pushed back to January 2023, with visual effects complications being the main one. concern. potential delay.

We generally suggest that such speculation should be taken with a grain of salt, but there may be some truth to lyserg16's latest leak. In the spring of 2020, lyserg16 took to Reddit to post a number of major WandaVision spoilers: leaked information, such as Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness being the show's main villain, which was proven to be correct. Based on lyserg16's background, there seems to be an element of truth in his latest leak.

Another prominent Marvel leaker, KC Walsh, has apparently confirmed these claims as well. When asked by a Twitter follower if he had heard of a possible launch delay, Walsh initially replied "no." However, Walsh went on to suggest that his source mentioned visual effects issues as a "headache" during She-Hulk's post-production phase, further proof that all might not be well in its development.

We've reached out to Disney for comment on this She-Hulk rumor and will update this article if we hear back.

Billed as a 10-episode legal comedy-drama, She-Hulk will star Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner/Hulk's cousin and a lawyer who specializes in cases involving superpowered beings.

In the comics, Walters is critically injured in a shootout and receives a blood transfusion from Banner to save her life. Unsurprisingly, Walters develops Hulk-like superpowers, allowing him to fight crime on two fronts, namely in the courtroom and on the streets. She expects a similar origin story to unfold on the superhero's TV show each time it arrives.

She-Hulk is currently one of six Marvel TV shows likely to hit Disney Plus in 2022.

Moon Knight is currently halfway through its episodic run on the streaming platform; check out our Episode 3 Easter Eggs article while you're here, and Ms. Marvel will follow on June 8. She-Hulk, secret invasion, what if? ..? Season 2 and I Am Groot are also set to land on Disney Plus this year.

Meanwhile, two TV specials are also scheduled for release on Disney's streaming service in 2022. A Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special is slated to release in December, while a Halloween special based on one of the enemies from the Moon Knight comic, Werewolf By Night. expected. arrive in October.

Throw in three Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies in Doctor Strange 2, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, all of which will be released exclusively in theaters, and Marvel's 2022 slate looks absolutely stacked.

With up to 11 projects in theaters and on Disney Plus in 2022, would a delayed She-Hulk release be that bad? Not necessarily. She-Hulk is likely to be a visual effects-heavy show, due to the number of super-powered CGI characters it can include, so its post-production phase is sure to be a drawn-out affair. If Marvel Studios needs more time to ensure She-Hulk's visual effects are up to the high standards fans normally expect from a Marvel movie or TV series, we'd be happy to help.

The problem, however, is that Marvel is probably already moving forward with its 2023 slate. Next year will see The Marvels, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Debut in theaters. Additionally, four other MCU TV shows – Ironheart, Armor Wars, Echo, and an untitled Wakanda series – are set to begin filming over the next 12 months ahead of 2023 releases.

If She-Hulk is delayed, Marvel may have to move its Phase 4 TV slate to accommodate her. Given the number of projects in the works, that wouldn't be ideal, especially since Marvel announced another batch of TV projects during the Disney Plus Day celebrations in November 2021.

Hopefully, Marvel (and Disney) will soon confirm if She-Hulk will be released this year. Whether it is or not, you'll be the first to know.
