Leaked Galaxy Z Flip 4 Image Shows Samsung's Next Foldable

We're expecting the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 to be officially unveiled next month, and in the meantime we've got a leaked image showing the flip phone from the side.

The photo, courtesy of 91mobiles, appears to be promotional material that Samsung is presumably putting together. Unsurprisingly, there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of cosmetic change from the previous version.

Along with the "Next Galaxy" tagline, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 appears in a new shade of purple that Samsung is apparently calling Bora. It's a color that is rumored to be coming to several other Samsung devices in the near future.

All in the details(*4*)

Although the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, it is unlikely to be identical: in the leaked image you can see that the side buttons are larger and more pronounced this time.

The camera lenses also seem to stick out more than on the previous model, while the overall design isn't as cramped. Hopefully that means camera upgrades as well as additional battery capacity for the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

While this image doesn't tell us much about the upcoming foldable phone, it is further proof that the phone is coming soon. We expect to see a host of new Samsung devices at the same event, including some smartwatches.

Analysis: bring the folding(*4*)

Foldable phones continue to creep ever closer to consumer devices: Both Google and Apple are reportedly working on their own foldable phones, which is a promising sign for the future of the form factor.

However, the rise of foldables owes a lot to Samsung. Without the annual releases of the Z Fold and Z Flip phones, consumers wouldn't have much choice in this category, except for the occasional offering from Huawei and Xiaomi.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold is the most conventional foldable, it opens and closes like a book, and we expect to see the Galaxy Z Fold 4 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 4 whenever Samsung decides to hold its next hardware showcase.

By all accounts, these should be the best foldable phones we've seen to date, and hopefully prices will be attractive too. August is shaping up to be a big month for the near future of foldable phones.
