It goes without saying that the iPhone 12 and its siblings are going to be very powerful phones as they are bound to have a new high-end chipset. But some of them could also get a lot more RAM than their predecessors. This is according to UBS analysts Timothy Arcuri and Munjal Shah, who, in a research note seen by MacRumors, claimed that the 12-inch iPhone 6.7 (will likely be dubbed the iPhone 12 Pro Max) and one of the 6.1-inch models (probably called iPhone 12 Pro) will have 6 GB of RAM. This represents an increase of only 4 GB on the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, therefore it is a 50% increase, which could have a significant impact on performance. Having more RAM in a phone can speed up processes like photo processing, video rendering, and even gaming. Although 6GB in the iPhone 12 range doesn't compare to 12GB on many Android phones, it's still a step that many users may find useful.
No change for the low range
The other two expected models won't be as lucky, analysts claim that another 6.1-inch model will only have 4GB, just like a 5.4-inch phone. Since even the basic iPhone 11 has 4GB of RAM, this means these models wouldn't see any upgrades on this front. Although these amounts of RAM are just rumors at this point, this isn't the first time we've heard this claim, so there's a good chance it's true. These screen sizes have been the subject of rumors on several occasions, and this research note also reiterates certain camera specifications, claiming that the two high-end phones will have a triple-lens rear camera with 3D sensing, while the two high-end phones low get a dual lens patch without 3D detection. While most rumors surface, there's still a long way to go before the iPhone 12 lineup launches in September, so a lot could change—or turn out wrong—by then. As such, while these details seem likely at this point, we'll still take them with a pinch of salt. Via GSM Arena
