“On one hand, there is smart contract risk, there is protocol risk,” said Alex Thorn, head of enterprise-wide research at Galaxy Digital, a crypto investment bank. “In addition, lending in DeFi significantly exposes you to volatile market movements, whereas lending to a creditworthy institutional borrower is very different. It's not the same as relying on crypto market prices to sustain or grow."
