Analysis: A hit for Netflix?

Workin' Moms is in the same position as Schitt's Creek for Netflix in that it doesn't actually make the show, but it does broadcast it in every other territory except Reitman and company's native Canada, which means a lot of people thinks it's a Netflix show. It also contributes part of the budget of the show.

Given Netflix's budgets, if executives had wanted to, they could have taken the show in-house, but all parties likely agree that after seven seasons, the show has run its course. Not every show can be Friends or The Big Bang Theory.

Also, for Workin Moms, the whole premise was built around a group of working moms from a group of mommy and me dads, and the kids grow up and there comes a time when they can make their own sandwiches.

It's worth saying that regular hits like Schitt's Creek, Workin Moms and Grace and Frankie are a key part of Netflix's offering, with heartwarming comedies that people love just as important to keeping subscribers as big flashy dramas, for so Netflix will have to find replacements. Maybe CBC, which gave Netflix both Schitt's Creek and Workin Moms, is developing the next hit. It'll have to wait and see...
