Barbie Movie Trailer Shows That Life In Plastic Is A True Fantasy

The first trailer for Margot Robbie's Barbie movie has been released, and it shows that, as the cheesy but beloved Barbie song goes, life in plastic really is fantastic.

The trailer for the rom-com movie, which hits theaters in July 2023, is only 60 seconds long, so we can't get much of its footage. However, the semble que cela pourrait être un succès surprising l'année prochaine – especially with the A-listers of Robbie (The Suicide Squad, Babylon) and Ryan Gosling (Blade Runner 2049, La La Land), who played Ken original, in head. the roles.

Check out Barbie's first sneak peek below:

Teasing Stan Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, the teaser shows several girls playing with old-fashioned dolls. However, once Robbie's Barbie arrives, with her shiny plastic skin and iconic hourglass figure, the same girls break the toys they were playing with in favor of Barbie's arrival.

The final seconds show actual footage from the film, including a look at Robbie's Barbie, Gosling's Ken and Shang-Chi star Simu Liu's Ken 2.0 engaging in various sequences based on music and dance. Sure, it looks incredibly cheesy, but just know it's going to be a summer blockbuster for the ages. Or, by 2023, at the earliest.

Barbie hits theaters around the world on July 21, 2023.
